The Pulau Redang Archipelago lies in the South China Sea, north east of Peninsular Malaysia and is above 45 km off the Terengganu coast. It consists of 9 islands - Redang, Pinang, Ling, Ekor Tebu, Kerengga Besar, Kerengga Kecil, Paku Besar, Paku Kecil and Lima.

The marine waters surrounding these islands up to 3 nautical miles from the low water mark of the shore have been designated as Pulau Redang Marine Parks Malaysia. The climate of the archipelago is dominated by the North-east Monsoon, which blows from November to March. These months are wetter than the rest of the year. Rain is frequent throughout the year with short dry spells. The islands of the Pulau Redang Archipelago are continental islands and were connected to the Malaysian mainland during the major recessions of the sea that occured at intervals in the Pleistocene period. When the continental ice caps melted, the islands became separated. Redang lies within the Indo-Pacific Region where diversity of marine fauna far exceeds that of other tropical regions. It has many families that are not found elsewhere. This is the home to about 500 species (over 50 genera) of reef-building corals, over 1,000 species of bivalves and about 3,000 species of fish!

The reefs of Redang provide a substrate for hosts of other organisms such as algae, sponges, worms, mollusks, crustaceans etc. All these organisms contribute to the ecology of th reef. The reef also provides major breeding, nursery and feeding grounds for many species of fish and other animals, while the beaches offer nesting sites for the hawkbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) and the endangered green turtle (Chelonia mydas). These reefs make up the magical underwater world of spectacular seascapes, unparallel in beauty and wonder with bewildering varieties of life forms.

• Take flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and transfer via domestic flight to Kuala Terengganu
• From Kuala Terengganu, you may take a 45 minutes coach to Shahbandar Jetty. Minimum to travel must be 2 persons.
• From Shahbandar Jetty to Redang Jetty for a ferry journey of 45 minutes. Minimum must be 2 persons to travel.
