Hotel 81 Bencoolen sits right at the doorsteps of the Central Business District. Rooms are small, relative to hotel rooms in Singapore. As this is a no frills hotel, amenities and furnishing are basic. Basically clean bed(s) with a small cupboard but with coffee/tea and cable television facilities. However, quality and cleanliness is assured. The attached bathrooms equipped with shower in bath.

Modern exterior with egg blue color. The street is line with many budget hotels and give good walking access to Orchard Road, Marina Bay and Bugis shopping areas. One can do walking tours to museums and colonial era civic building. Also not to be missed is historical Fort Canning Park.

The lobby is small but very elegantly modern in design with dark woods. A single counter manned by friendly staff with a small seating area. A little cafe next door is accessible from the lobby and breakfast seating in available upstairs.
