Sun Island measuring about 1.6 km in length and around 380 meters in width has 350 elegantly furnished guestrooms, including 72 water bungalows, out of which, 4 are Presidential Suites, 218 Super Deluxe Beach Bungalows and 60 Deluxe Beach Bungalows.

All Deluxe and Super Deluxe Beach Bungalows are built on the beach ensuring a direct view of the shore and sea.
All Water Bungalows are built on stilts in the lagoon overlooking the vast horizon of either the sunrise or sunset view, from your private deck.

Under the direction of our Executive Chef, Mohamed Waheed, who for years has been in Villa hotels, our restaurants rank well in the county. Our 5 restaurants including Italian, Thai, 24hour A La Carte Coffeeshop / Southern Star Grill and the Main Restaurant features, good views, romantic setting, healthy dishes and good wine lists. Our guests rave about our selection of fresh island fish and seafood . Everyday the the Chef features a uniquely themed menu with a mix of local and international favorites, a perfect opportunity to sample new-to-you taste sensations which will fuel up for your holiday activities. Our 10 bars including 24hrs main bar with disco floor serves number of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and varieties of cocktail.

Sun Star Restaurant

Mouth Watering Thai and Oriental delicacies from an exclusive Reef top restaurant offering a magnificent view of Sunrise and Sunset over the Indian Ocean & fascinating Romantic dinners under the twinkling Southern Cross. (Open from 10am till midnight).It's beautiful with an ocean view that's subtly lit up at night. Ask for a table along the open oceanside edge. The service here is attentive and even anticipatory.

Lobby Bar

Personalized service in a quite and comfortable setting for special meetings and discussions. A wide selection of wines, beverages, cocktails and champagne to check. Open from 1700-0000 hrs.

Facilities & Services

Diving

The Diving School of Sun Island is located on a small island connected by a wide jetty to the resort. The Diving School is about 30m wide and 12 m deep. Two dry rooms, one A/C classroom, one non-A/C classroom, Two equipment rooms, workshop, compressor room with three Bauer K14 Vertical III compressors, two dry rooms, four showers, four toilets, eight changing rooms and lockers are available.

The Diving School offers courses of:

- PADI (Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Dive master, Assistant Instructor and different Specialty Courses).
- Medic First Aid.
- DAN Oxygen provider course

The causes can be taught mainly in the following languages: English, German, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, French and Russian.

Boat Dives are made three times a day, night dives two times a week (or more often on special request), day trips will be scheduled two times a week. The diving boats are leaving 10-20 meter from the diving school. The boat trips are normally about one hour to the Dhigurah channel. Boats are equipped with radio communication, spare-box, tools, first aid and oxygen set (DAN). For the guests' safety surface floats are provided.

Sports & Recreation

We provide a wide range of sports and recreational facilities with modern equipment and experienced instructors. These include floodlight tennis, basketball, volleyball, electronic games, squash, indoor badminton, table tennis etc. Amongst the exciting water-sports activities available are scuba diving, wind surfing, catamaran sailing, and canoeing just to name a few.

A large swimming pool measuring 1800 square meters and children’s pool is set amidst exotic landscaping. It extends right to the edge of the lagoon. Towards the end of the pool is a swim-up bar.

Health and fitness

Concerning health & fitness, we have a wide variety of activities available to ensure absolute relaxation for your tired muscles. These activities include aromatherapy massage, aerobics, gymnasium, sauna, steam bath, chilled pond, Jacuzzi and saloon, etc.

Clinic

The resort’s clinic is open daily to attend to your medical needs. Staffed with a doctor and nurses, the clinic’s facilities include a well-stocked pharmacy, private rooms for in house treatment.

Entertainment

Sun Island presents you with an exciting weekly entertainment program comprising of live band, disco, Karaoke, competitions, poolside shows and many more to make your evening a lively and an enjoyable one.
