Riverside Hotel, situated on Quai de Belgique street (now called Ton Duc Thang street), was established as an office of The CARIC Company, a French Shipyard & Ship repairing Company, since about 1887. The property had an architecture of two-storey classical style. After 1975, the property was transferred to SAIGON SHIPCHANDLER Company, and used as a wine storage and a Club of Seamen.

In 1993, the original property was redesigned and reconstructed into six-storey building, suitable to Its new function as a hotel. The classical architecture was not only maintained but also enhanced on the purpose of making an unique beauty in harmony with the ideal location of the romantic Saigon River.
