This is the Thai capital's newest hotspot, a calming haven within the urban hubbub with a belief in detail shared by the Metropolitan, London, also from COMO Hotels and Resorts.

The Metropolitan, Bangkok, is tucked away on South Sathorn Road in the city’s Central Business District, at one remove from Bangkok’s traffic yet steps from the city’s buzzing nightlife. Experience the best of both worlds - the energy of this lively metropolis, and a hotel that promises serene escapism.

This design hotel is located at the north of Sathorn road, parallel to famous Silom Business district. It takes approximately 10-15 minutes drive to riverside and close to famous shopping night bazaar at Patpong and Suanlum night bazaar within 10 minutes walk. Distance from Suvarnabhum Airport takes average 45 minutes by expressway.

Hotel's outdoor swimming pool is located at the ground level next to the hotel's entrance. Other hotel facilities also include Asian-inspired treatments, fully equipped gym room, steam room, hydro pool and yoga studio. There is also a trendy style bar right next to the lobby where light snack and lunch is served as well as being a cool place to hang out in the evening. Meeting facilities are available up to maximum of 90 covers. This is one of the newly introduce trendy and branded hotel from England, most suitable for individual travellers.

Exterior is modern medium rise concrete L-shape building finished in white.

All rooms are contemporary Thai style with influence of white, dark brown and black colour. Every room has high-speed broadband internet access with wireless Lan option. Rooms offer either city view or pool view. Room amenities are of highest standard using brand pro ct such as Armani bathrobe etc. Metropolitan room is much larger with 54 square meters offering largest deluxe king or twin bedded room. Plenty of relaxing space. There is large L-shaped teak wood bench, bedecked in Thai silk cushions. Bathroom is large. Separate bathtub and shower.

The 171 rooms, including four penthouse suites and a two-bedroom presidential fiefdom, share a cosseting, contemporary style. The simple, ample volumes are flooded with light. Natural materials include Makha wood from Thailand. Paintings are also featured, by Natee Utarit, at the cutting edge of Asia's art scene.

Business travellers can expect rooms to meet necessary technological requirements. Other guest room amenities include personal yoga mats.

The Metropolitan Bangkok provides various standards of guest accommodation; all offer generous space, with luxury felt in the telling detail, from towels like clouds to COMO Shambhala bathroom amenities.

These light-filled, king-bedded rooms have generous desk space and a comfortable sitting area fashioned from teak wood and bedecked with Thai silk cushions. The large bathrooms have off-white limestone and mosaic tiles, a separate bathtub and shower.

Metropolitan Rooms

Oversized beds are flanked by a generous teak wood bench in these, the largest deluxe king or twin-bedded rooms in Bangkok. A Ming-style chair from natural teak and rattan is a unique feature of the Metropolitan Room. The large bathrooms are decorated with off-white limestone and mosaic tiles, each featuring a separate shower and bathtub.

Approached via a private corridor dressed with antique teakwood carving, Chinese 'horse shoe' chairs and temple bells, the four duplex king-bedded suites on the hotel’s 11th floor are steeped in natural light. Electronically operated Thai silk curtains open to reveal excellent pool or city views. There is an open-plan living space with a Helen Yardley rug and Patricia Urguilo sofa, a spacious working area, comfortable bedroom and spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub. All Penthouse Suites include personal butler services.

Rooms are fully tech'd up. Amenities include direct dial telephones, faxes (by request), modem points and Broadband Internet Access. Furthermore, wireless internet access is available in all rooms and public areas.

Features of the four penthouse suites include:

Shambhala
, a signature urban retreat from COMO Hotels and Resorts, occupies an area of approximately 1200 sq.m (second floor) comprising 10 treatment rooms, a yoga / movement studio, seperate female / male steam rooms, hydro-pool and a fully equipped state-of-the-art gymnasium. Treatments include traditional Thai, Ayurvedic and various Asian therapies for the body, face and nails. An outdoor 20m-lap pool is located on the ground floor.
